Falcon High-Performance Inconel 825 / Incoloy 825 (UNS N08825 / Cu28M) Ball Valves
At Falcon, we engineer and manufacture industrial-grade Inconel 825 Ball Valves designed for zero-leakage tight shut-off, quarter-turn operational reliability, and maximum corrosion resistance in severe acid and sour gas environments. Cast in high-purity ASTM A494 Grade Cu28M (Cast Inconel 825) and forged from ASTM B564 / B425 UNS N08825, our Inconel 825 ball valves combine a high nickel-iron-chromium matrix with added copper, molybdenum, and titanium to deliver exceptional resistance to hot sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, chloride pitting, and sulfide stress cracking.
Key Features & Advantages
- Superior Sulfuric & Phosphoric Acid Resistance: Specially alloyed with 1.5–3.0% Cu and 38–46% Ni to provide complete immunity to boiling sulfuric acid solutions and crude wet-process phosphoric acid streams.
- Immunity to Stress-Corrosion Cracking (SCC): High nickel matrix eliminates chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking in warm, highly reactive chemical processes and sour oilfield fluids.
- Titanium-Stabilized Against Intergranular Attack: Titanium addition (∼0.6–1.2%) stabilizes the alloy against sensitization during thermal cycles, protecting welded end connections and internal valve seating faces.
- Bi-Directional Zero-Leakage Shut-Off: Precision-ground Inconel 825 balls paired with advanced soft seats (PTFE/RTFE/Devlon/PEEK) or metal-to-metal seating ensure certified API 598 / ISO 5208 Rate A bubble-tight isolation.
- Low Operating Torque & Anti-Blowout Stem: Blowout-proof stem design integrated with high-strength Inconel 718 (UNS N07718) shafts ensures operational safety and smooth low-torque actuation.
Ball Valve Design Configurations Offered
- 2-Piece & 3-Piece Floating Inconel 825 Ball Valves:
- Design: Compact quarter-turn floating ball geometry where line pressure seals the ball upstream against the downstream seat.
- Best For: Medium-pressure chemical feed lines, acid distribution manifolds, and skid-mounted utility loops up to Class 300 ().
- Trunnion-Mounted Inconel 825 Ball Valves:
- Design: Fixed ball supported by upper and lower trunnion bearings with spring-loaded, self-relieving seats for low torque at high differential pressures.
- Best For: High-pressure oil & gas pipelines, sour gas () manifolds, and large-diameter acid lines Class 150 to 1500 ().
- Metal-Seated Inconel 825 Ball Valves:
- Design: Precision-lapped Inconel 825 ball and seat rings hard-faced with Stellite 6 or Tungsten Carbide coatings for extreme thermal expansion and abrasive media.
- Best For: Slurry handling, high-temperature sulfuric acid loops, and severe-service petrochemical processing exceeding soft-seat temperature limits.
Primary Industrial Applications
- Sulfuric & Phosphoric Acid Processing: Acid dilution skids, fertilizer production, phosphoric acid concentration loops, and metal pickling lines.
- Sour Oil & Gas (): Downhole sour gas gathering lines, gas treatment skids, and produced water disposal systems in compliance with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156.
- Chemical & Petrochemical Refining: Organic acid synthesis, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) production, and chemical washing towers.
- Nuclear & Chemical: Nitric acid dissolvers, nuclear fuel element recovery, and aggressive waste stream containment.
Quality Assurance, Testing & Certification
Every Falcon Inconel 825 Ball Valve undergoes strict quality verification before dispatch:
- 100% Positive Material Identification (PMI): Conducted on body, disc, ball, and stem components to verify.
- NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 Compliance
- Fire-Safe Certification: Tested and certified to API 607 / ISO 10497
- Hydrostatic Shell & Seat Testing: high-pressure hydrostatic testing
- Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)
- EN 10204 Type 3.1 & Type 3.2 Material Test Reports (MTRs)
