When standard alloys succumb to aggressive chemical attack, Falcon’s Hastelloy Butterfly Valves provide the definitive solution. Engineered for the most severe service conditions, these valves are designed to handle high-concentration acids, hot brine, and volatile chemical compounds without compromising structural integrity.
Technical SpecificationsMaterial Grades: Hastelloy C276, C22, and B3.
Design Type: Double Offset and Triple Offset (for bubble-tight, metal-to-metal seating).
Size Range: $2"$ to $48"$.
Pressure Rating: ASME Class 150, 300, and 600.
Temperature Range: Capable of withstanding cryogenic temperatures up to $+450^{\circ}C$ (depending on seal selection).
Body Styles: Wafer, Lug, and Flanged.
Superior Acid Resistance: Outstanding performance in phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid environments.
Pitting & SCC Resistance: Virtually immune to Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) and localized pitting in stagnant brine.
High Strength-to-Weight: Maintains mechanical properties at elevated temperatures where other materials soften.
Precision Sealing: Available with PTFE, reinforced PTFE, or Stellite-faced metal seats for severe cycle applications.
Chemical Processing: Reactive media and aggressive catalyst handling.
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD): Handling highly acidic scrubber slurries.
Pharmaceuticals: High-purity, corrosive batch processing.
Specialized Desalination: Concentrated, high-temperature brine discharge.
Our Hastelloy Butterfly Valves are engineered to solve the "friction problem" found in standard valves. We specialize in two high-performance geometries:
Double Offset (High Performance): * The shaft is offset from the centerline of the disc and the seat.
Benefit: This creates a "cam-action" that lifts the disc off the seat quickly, reducing friction and extending the life of PTFE or reinforced seats in brine service.
Triple Offset (Zero Leakage / Severe Service): * Incorporates a third offset—the geometry of the seating surface itself (a conical shape).
Benefit: This allows for metal-to-metal seating with no rubbing during travel. It provides a bubble-tight, bi-directional shutoff even at high temperatures and high pressures where soft seats would fail.
Falcon maintains a rigorous Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure every valve can withstand the aggressive nature of Hastelloy-specific applications.
Design Standards: API 609, ASME B16.34, and BS EN 593.
Material Traceability: 100% traceability of all pressure-retaining parts (Body, Disc, Stem) with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 Certificates.
NACE Compliance: All Hastelloy valves are manufactured to meet NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for resistance to sulfide stress cracking in sour oil and gas environments.
Wall Thickness: Strict adherence to ASME B16.34 to ensure safety margins under high-pressure brine surges.
Before any Falcon valve leaves our facility, it undergoes a series of mandatory and optional "Severe Service" inspections:
Standard Tests (Per API 598):
Shell Test: Hydrostatic testing at $1.5 \times$ the rated pressure to ensure body integrity.
Seat Leakage: High-pressure hydro and low-pressure pneumatic testing to verify zero-leakage performance.
Backseat Test: Verification of the stem seal integrity.
"Beyond the Metal." While many can cast specialty alloys, Falcon masters the machining and sealing of Hastelloy. Because Hastelloy work-hardens quickly, our specialized CNC machining processes ensure that the critical sealing faces of our Triple Offset valves achieve the exact conical geometry required for a 100% bubble-tight seal in acidic brine.
