Superior Versatility for Advanced Chemical Resistance
Falcon Hastelloy C22 Knife Gate Valves are designed for critical process industries that require a higher level of protection than standard stainless or even C276 alloys can provide. Constructed from Alloy C22 (UNS N06022), these valves are the ultimate solution for processes that alternate between oxidizing and reducing environments.
1. Why Choose Hastelloy C22?Hastelloy C22 contains a higher chromium content than C276, providing enhanced resistance to:
Pitting & Crevice Corrosion: Highly effective in stagnant or low-flow corrosive media.
Oxidizing Media: Superior performance in wet chlorine, nitric acid, and mixtures containing ferric or cupric salts.
Weld Zone Integrity: Resists the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, maintaining the valve's strength after fabrication.
Interchangeable Seat Design: Available with high-performance PTFE, reinforced Teflon, or metal-to-metal seats for high-temperature service.
Reinforced Gland Yoke: Engineered to handle high cycle rates in automated systems, ensuring the gate remains perfectly centered for a bubble-tight seal.
Integrated Scrapers: Optional secondary scrapers can be installed to clean the gate on every stroke, preventing C22 material buildup in sticky chemical applications.
Streamlined Flow Path: The interior body is precision-cast to eliminate "pockets" where aggressive chemicals could pool and cause localized corrosion.

Falcon C22 valves are specifically recommended for:
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: Ideal for high-purity chemical reactions where cross-contamination and corrosion must be zero.
Waste Acid Recovery: Handling mixed acid streams that contain high levels of oxidizing contaminants.
Bleach Plants (Advanced): Used in the most aggressive stages of pulp bleaching where C276 might show signs of pitting.
Hazardous Waste Incineration: Handling the highly corrosive "scrubber liquor" generated during the treatment of chemical waste.
Marine & Subsea: Components requiring absolute immunity to seawater corrosion in high-temperature heat exchangers.
For your customers, it is helpful to note: While C276 is excellent in reducing environments (like Hydrochloric acid), C22 provides better overall protection in a wider "mix" of chemicals, especially those that are highly oxidizing.
Specialized Leakage & Pressure TestsFalcon valves are tested beyond standard water-pressure benchmarks:
Bubble-Tight Seat Test: Using the API 598 or MSS SP-151 standards, we perform a "Low-Pressure Air Test" on the seat. Even a single bubble is cause for rejection in a C22 "Zero-Leakage" build.
High-Pressure Shell Test: The valve body is tested at $1.5 \times$ its rated pressure (e.g., a 150# valve is tested at 450 PSI) to ensure absolute structural safety.
Cycle Repeatability Test: For automated C22 valves, we perform functional cycling (Open/Close) under pressure to ensure the Inconel-reinforced packing maintains a seal during high-frequency operation.
We provide a comprehensive "Quality Passport" with every shipment:
EN 10204 3.1 Certificate: Full chemical and mechanical traceability.
Hydro-Test Reports: Documented results of seat and shell integrity.
