At Falcon Valves and Flanges Pvt Ltd., we pride ourselves on being specialists with profound in-hand experience in the design, manufacturing, and supply of high-performance Titanium Valves. Titanium is an extraordinary material, revered for its unparalleled corrosion resistance, exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, and remarkable durability in the most aggressive industrial environments. When other metals fail, Titanium endures.
Our expertise allows us to produce almost all types of valves – including Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, Butterfly, Plug valves, and Strainers – precisely engineered to meet the stringent demands of industries such as chemical processing, marine, oil & gas, aerospace, and power generation.
Unlocking Titanium's Potential: Forged and Cast Excellence
Falcon leverages both advanced forging (ASTM B381) and casting (ASTM B367) techniques to produce Titanium valves of the highest integrity and performance.
Forged Titanium Valves (ASTM B381): Forgings offer superior mechanical properties, including higher tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and improved structural integrity due to a refined grain structure and reduced internal defects. This makes them ideal for high-pressure, high-stress, and safety-critical applications where ultimate reliability is paramount.
Cast Titanium Valves (ASTM B367): Casting allows for greater design complexity and the production of intricate geometries, often at a more cost-effective rate for certain valve types and sizes. When properly manufactured and inspected, cast Titanium valves provide excellent performance for a wide range of corrosive services.
By utilizing both methods, Falcon ensures that each valve is produced with the optimal manufacturing process for its specific application requirements, balancing performance, design complexity, and cost efficiency.
The Power of Titanium Grades: Grade 2 and Grade 5
Falcon primarily utilizes the two most widely accepted and versatile titanium grades for industrial valve applications:
Titanium Grade 2 (Commercially Pure Titanium): This is the most common and ductile grade of commercially pure titanium.
Benefits: Offers excellent corrosion resistance in highly oxidizing environments, wet chlorine, chloride solutions, and seawater. It provides a good balance of strength, ductility, formability, and weldability, making it highly versatile. It forms a robust passive oxide layer that protects against a wide array of corrosive media.
Applications: Ideal for general corrosion resistance in chemical processing (e.g., handling chlorine, hypochlorite, nitric acid, various organic acids, and salt solutions), heat exchangers, and marine applications where moderate strength is sufficient.
Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): This is an alpha-beta alloy, known as the "workhorse" of titanium alloys, comprised of 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium.
Benefits: Provides significantly higher strength, toughness, and heat resistance compared to Grade 2. While Grade 2 typically offers superior corrosion resistance in specific highly oxidizing conditions, Grade 5 still exhibits excellent corrosion resistance across many environments and is preferred when high mechanical strength and performance under stress are critical. It can also be heat-treated for enhanced strength.
Applications: Suited for higher pressure systems, components requiring superior structural integrity, and applications demanding higher tensile strength and fatigue resistance, such as high-performance components in aerospace, pressure vessels, and critical industrial and chemical systems.
